For many women, shopping for a bra can be embarrassing. But a new application helps to ensure a perfect fit, with an iPhone camera acting as a virtual measuring tape, reported Forbes, a business and technology news outlet.
All a shopper has to do is stand in front a mirror wearing a fitted tank top and snap two iPhone “selfies” at slightly different angles. The iPhone itself takes precise measurements.
E-commerce startup ThirdLove’s smartphone technology has seven patents, with four more pending.
MIT-educated ex-Google executive Heidi Zak cofounded ThirdLove in 2012 with her husband and was the focus of sought-after investors such as social media billionaire Yuri Milner. Last year, the company announced a $5.6 million seed round.
Zak did not disclose exact figures, but said the company has doubled its monthly revenue since the app launch. ThirdLove is not yet available for Android phones but will be in the near future, Forbes added.
