Jaguar Land Rover Korea has been playing a significant role in bridging Korea and the U.K. as the two countries mark 130 years of diplomatic relations this year, the U.K.-based carmaker said, emphasizing that it would not cease such efforts.

“Jaguar Land Rover Korea has engaged in multiple activities to reinforce the status and awareness of the British industry in Korea.” said David McIntyre, managing director of Jaguar Land Rover Korea.

“We will continue to sponsor various events to promote Britain through a close cooperative relationship with the British Embassy Seoul.”

Last week, HMS Daring, a British Royal Navy destroyer, arrived in Korea for a joint military exercise. During the three-day visit, a reception was held on the ship and Jaguar Land Rover’s entire line-up, including the Range Rover and the Jaguar XJ, were exhibited at the entrance of the Daring to welcome guests.

Participants of the reception included Adm. George Zambellas, first sea lord and chief of naval staff, and celebrities from Korea and the U.K.

On Wednesday, the Jaguar XJ made an appearance at the annual Korea-Britain Society dinner, a gathering of Korean and British politicians and businesspeople hosted by the British Embassy in Seoul.

In June, the carmaker participated as an official sponsor of the Queen’s birthday celebrations in Korea.
