After a brief hiatus from the rom-com with MBC’s soap operatic “Missing You,” “Coffee Prince” star Yoon Eun-hye is back to the lighthearted genre with KBS’ upcoming “Marry Him If You Dare.”

In regards to her return to the genre that propelled her to fame six years ago, Yoon acknowledged the melodramatic slant of “Missing You.”

“The previous series was very emotional and did have a lot of sob scenes in it,” she said at the drama’s press conference in Seoul on Thursday.

The 29-year-old actress then confessed, “But I did feel a little bit of pressure when I was faced with the decision to go back to a rom-com.”

At the press conference, Yoon revealed that while she had some concerns about returning to a familiar genre in the beginning. she felt right at home on the set after she jumped on board “Marry Him If You Dare.”

In her latest work, Yoon stars as a 30-something call center worker who finds herself a far cry away from her lifelong dream of becoming a TV scriptwriter.

Feeling like all hope of achieving her dream is running out fast, heroine Na Mi-rae (Yoon Eun-hye) finds her life turned upside down on its head when she encounters a woman who claims to be a future version of herself who has traveled back in time 25 years to help her younger self out.

“My character ends up deciding to become a TV scriptwriter after running into her future self,” Yoon said.

Joining Yoon as her heroine’s potential love interests are hallyu stars Lee Dong-gun and boy band CNBLUE’s Jung Yong-hwa.

In the upcoming series, singer-and-actor Jung will play a media goliath’s heir while actor-and-singer Lee, who is returning to Korean dramas after a near five-year break, plays a broadcast network announcer.

At the press event, co-star Jung confessed to facing difficulties with his role as a chaebol heir.

“I myself haven’t lived in a chaebol household, so it hasn’t been easy,” said Jung. “For instance, at one point the script directed me to eat udon in a sophisticated manner. I really racked my brains over how I would pull off eating noodles with elegance.”

The actor then quipped, “You can check my posh udon eating scene when it airs on TV.”

“Marry Him If You Dare” starts airing Oct. 14 Mondays and Tuesdays on KBS 2 TV at 10 p.m.
