원더걸스 선예 “임신했어요!”

원더걸스의 멤버 선예 (본명 민선예)가 임신 소식을 알렸다.

선예는 4일 트위터에 “이제 (임신) 3개월로 접어들어서 아기 소식을 알리기 적당한 안정권”이라고 적으면서 “(아기가) 뱃속에 있는 동안 건강히 자랄 수 있도록 기도해달라”고 덧붙였다.

독실한 기독교인으로 알려진 선예는 지난 1월 26일, 5살 연상의 캐나다 교포 출신 선교사 제임스 박과 결혼했다.

선예의 결혼소식은 열애소식조차 숨기는 인기 아이돌로서는 이례적인 행보였는데, 이번 임신소식에 일부 팬들은 “엄마돌 탄생”이라면서 축하의 뜻을 표했다.

선예와 남편 제임스 박은 현재 캐나다에서 신혼살림을 차린 것으로 알려졌다.

Wonder Girls’ Sun-ye says she’s pregnant

Min Sun-ye, a member of a popular K-pop girl group Wonder Girls, announced Thursday that she was three months pregnant.

“It (The pregnancy) entered its third month, so it is safe to announce the good news. Please pray for our baby’s health,” she said via Twitter.

Min said they had been “blessed with a honeymoon baby,” indicating that she conceived her child during her honeymoon on April.

The 24-year-old singer shocked her fans last year when she revealed her plans to marry a Korean-Canadian missionary James Park. Most young celebrities in Korea hide their romantic relationship, and very few get married at such young age.

Some speculated that Min may retire or leave her group, but Min’s agency denied such rumors. During a press conference on her wedding day, Min said that she hopes to take the stage again.

“I don’t know when I will be back as Wonder Girls, but singing will be a lifetime thing for me,” she said.

Min and her husband Park are now living in Canada.
