TV 스타, 집 근처에서 숨진 채 발견

미국의 유명 리얼리티 TV쇼 ‘벅와일드’의 출연진 중 한 명인 셰인 간디 (21)가 집 근처에서 숨진 채로 발견되었다고 현지 언론이 보도했다.

케이블 채널 MTV는 홈페이지에 1일 (현지시간) 간디의 시신이 웨스트 버지니아에 있는 그의 자택 근처에 있는 벌목 도로에 세워진 차에서 발견되었다고 보도했다. 차량 안에는 그의 시신 외에 간디의 삼촌을 포함한 두 명의 시신이 더 발견되었다고 한다.

현지 경찰은 아직 정확한 사인은 밝혀내지 못했으나, 살인사건으로 의심되지는 않는다고 전했다.

MTV 대변인은 간디가 “사람을 끄는 매력을 지녔으며” 제작진이 그를 대단히 그리워하게 될 것이라고 밝혔다.

간디가 명성을 얻게 된 벅와일드는 웨스트 버지니아에 사는 아홉 명의 젊은이들이 전원생활을 즐기는 것을 그리는 리얼리티 쇼이다. 일각에서는 이를 두고 MTV의 다른 인기 쇼 져지쇼어(Jersey Shore)의 “시골뜨기 (redneck) 버전”이라고 표현하기도 했다. (코리아헤럴드)

U.S. reality TV star found dead: reports

A 21-year-old star of a hit reality TV show Buckwild was found dead Monday on a remote road, U.S. media reported.

According to MTV’s website, Shain Gandee’s body was found in a Ford Bronco vehicle on a logging road about 1.6 kilometers from his home in Sissonville, West Virginia. The bodies of two other people, including Gandee’s uncle, were also found in the car.

The local police have yet to identify the exact cause of death, although no foul play is suspected.

MTV spokesman said that the deceased star had a “magnetic personality,” and that he will be “missed dearly.”

Gandee was a breakout star of the popular show which portrayed the lives of nine young adults enjoying country life in West Virginia. It was described by some as the “redneck version” of MTV’s other popular show “Jersey Shore.”
