싸이는 내달 12일 한국에서 신곡을 하루 빨리 공개한다. 소속사 YG엔터테인먼트 관계자는 11일 “신곡을 당초 오는 4월13일 전 세계에서 동시 공개할 생각이었다. 하지만 이날 한국에서 콘서트를 여는 점을 고려해 국내에서만 하루 전인 4월 12일 발표할 계획”이라며 “팬서비스 차원에서 신곡의 음원을 한국에서 최초로 선보일 것”이라고 전했다.

이어 YG 엔터테인먼트는 신곡 음원이 불법 유출되지 않고 국내 음원 사이트에만 올라 있을 수 있는 기술적을 방법을 찾고 있는 중이라며 문제가 해결된다면 한국에서 싸이의 신곡을 가장 먼저 만나 볼 수 있을 것이라고 전했다.

싸이는 4월13일 서울 상암동 월드컵경기장에서 콘서트 ‘해프닝’을 펼친다. 이번 공연은 지난해 10월 시청 광장 콘서트 이후 6개월 만이다. 지난해 8월 서울 잠실종합운동장 보조경기장에서 펼친 유료 공연 이후로는 8개월 만이다. 월드컵경기장은 약 5만명의 인원을 수용할 수 있는 규모다.

앞서 싸이는 지난 8일 자신의 유투브 공식 채널에 올린 영상을 통해 한국어와 영어로 “2013년 4월 13일 제 새로운 싱글이 전 세계 동시 발매된다”라며 “이를 기념하기 위해 제 콘서트 ‘해프닝’ (Happening)을 서울 월드컵경기장에서 열며 유투브를 통해 전 세계 생중계 한다”라고 말했다.

한편 싸이의 콘서트 ‘해프닝’을 앞두고 지난 11일 티켓 예매가 오픈됐다. 싸이의 공연은 티켓을 오픈하자마자 폭발적인 관심을 받았다. 오픈 30분 만에 1만장, 1시간 만에 1만 5000장의 판매고를 기록하며 인터파크 당일예매순위 차트에서도 74.9%라는 압도적인 예매율을 기록했다.

Psy to release new single to Korean fans first

Psy has announced the follow-up to his 2012 smash-hit “Gangnam Style,” and he will be sharing the honor to release it to Korean fans first.

While the K-pop singer announced that he will be releasing his new single on April 13, at his solo concert, “Happening,” Psy added that fans in Korea will get the chance to hear the new song first before everyone.

According to YG Entertainment, Psy will be releasing his new single on April 12 in Korea. “Psy expressed his wishes to reveal the song first to Korean fans, who have supported him from the very beginning.” The early release will allow Korean fans, who will attend the concert the next day to enjoy the song at its fullest.

YG Entertainment is currently trying to find a strategic way to prevent any leakage of the track internationally and online.

Meanwhile the global release will be on April 13 at “Happening,” YouTube-broadcast concert in Seoul World Cup Stadium, which will be available for everyone to stream online.

Earlier in March 8, Psy revealed a video on YouTube that stated, “My new single will release all over the world on April 13. I will be holding my ‘Happening’ concert to celebrate the release of my new single.” In the video, he repeats the same message in Korean and English and is seen dancing to “Gangnam Shake” (his rendition of “The Harlem Shake”).

Tickets for the concert opened up in Interpark on March 11. Reaching number one for sales of the day, tickets were sold up to 74.9 percent.
