A 5-year-old Russian girl who had been living with cow herd and can only communicate through mooing noises was rescued recently, according to Russian media.

The unnamed child was found by police after a tip off by a neighbor at Solikamsk district in the Ural Mountains. The neighbor told the officials that there was a little girl living with cows at a farm run by the girl’s parents.

Police checked the farm and found that the girl was living in a cowshed with livestock. The girl was unable to speak, and prefers to drink milk from a saucepan rather than to eat in a proper manner.

The girl’s mother and stepfather allegedly forced the girl to stay with the animals because they did not want to take care of her. She had also been locked in a storage room from time to time.

The girl has now been placed with a foster family.

구출된 소녀는 재활시설을 거쳐 양부모에게 위탁되었다.
