The opening ceremony of the 16th Puchon (Bucheon) International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan) was held in Bucheon Gymnasium at 7 p.m. Thursday.

More than 3,000 people including Bucheon City mayor Kim Man-soo, deputy minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Kwak Young-jin, and many other celebrities and movie-lovers attended the ceremony hosted by Bucheon City and the PiFan Organizing Committee.

During the ceremony, mayor Kim said that PiFan is a very creative and extraordinary event, encouraging people to enjoy the movie festival.

After the ceremony, Korean horror film “Horror Stories,” a joint project by six local directors: Jeong Beom-sik, Im Dae-woong, Hong Ji-Young, Kim Gok, Kim Seo and Min Gyoo-dong, was screened as the opening movie.

A red carpet festival was also held before the ceremony, attracting many fans.

Celebrities in attendance include famous actors and actresses like Ha Jeong-woo, Ha Ji-won, Lee Je-hoon, Ahn Seong-ki and the “PiFan Lady” Park Ha-sun.

박하선, PiFan 개막식서 반전 드레스 뽐내



회 부천국제판타스틱영화제(PiFan)가 19일 오후 7시 부천 실내체육관에서 화려하게 개막했다.

경기도 부천시와 부천영화제집행위원회의 주최로 열린 개막식은 김만수 부천시장, 곽영진 문화체육관광부 제1차관, 원혜영 민주통합당 의원, 유명 영화인과 시민, 마니아 등 3천여명이 참석한 가운데 1시간 가량 열렸다.

김 시장은 “부천영화제는 장마 기간에 열려 ‘우중영화제’라고도 불리지만 창의적이고 독특한 영화제”라며 “우리 모두 사랑, 환상, 모험이 가득한 영화의 세계로 여행을 떠나자”고 격려했다.

개막식이 끝난 뒤 개막작인 정범식ㆍ임대웅 감독 등의 옴니버스 호러 영화 ‘무서운 이야기’가 상영됐다.

앞서 오후 6시에는 레드 카펫 행사가 열려 많은 마니아ㆍ시민들이 환호하며 즐거워했다.

이 행사에는 피판레이디 박하선을 비롯해 하정우, 하지원, 이제훈, 강수연, 안성기, 예지원, 장나라, 박보영, 김인권, 임권택, 정지영, 정범식, 김동호, 심재명 등 영화인과 영화 관계자들이 대거 참석했다. 첸옌시, 임지령, 오타니 료헤이 등 외국 게스트들도 모습을 나타냈다.
