Music mogul Park Jin-young celebrated the launch of his new Monster Diamond Tears headphones at a star-studded party at Hotel Ellui on Friday.

Park, who sheads JYP Entertainment, suited up for the occasion, explaining why the high performance headset was special. "Nomally headphones are designed in hip hop style, but these are different, " he said in an interview. "The Diamond Tears go well with pretty much any look. "

JYP artists such as the Wondergirls, Miss A, 2PM, and 2AM were out in full force, strategically posing for photographs holding or wearing the diamond style headset.

Noel Lee, founder of Monster, joined in the celebration as well.

The headphones were designed by Park himself and was launched by Monster, the same company which created the headphone line Beats by Dr. Dre in partnership with Dr. Dre.

Park is following in the footsteps of well-known musicians who have launched their own headphones, such as 50 Cents.

Park has come a long way since he made his first debut as a group called Park Jin-young and the New Generation some 20 years ago. Once he gained success as a solo artist with hit songs such as "She was Pretty " and "Honey ," he moved on to discover artists such as Rain and the Wonder Girls, composing and producing over 31 charting singles and 25 albums.

Park made his acting debut in 2011, appearing in television drama "Dream High" and stars in the movie "Five Million Dollar Man."

Park also opened a Korean restaurant in Kristalbelli in Manhattan in March.

Park performed live on Friday’s launch party, singing songs such as "You’re the One," a number he first performed on the SBS talent show "K-pop Star." The Diamond Tears headset gained much public interest thanks to the show ahead of its launch, as Park often appeared on the judge panel wearing them.

In one hilarious episode, he forgot to take them off after viewing a performance, and had to be reminded to take them off.

The Diamond Tears headphones were first introduced in January at the 2012 Las Vegas CES.

Park and Monster’s Lee will attend the opening event of the first Diamond Tears shop at the Galleria department store in Apgujeong-dong on Sunday.
