A New Zealand theater company is set to perform in Seoul and Busan as part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Korea-New Zealand ties.

Red Leap Theatre’s production “The Arrival” will be staged from May 3-6 at Seoul’s LG Arts Center and then from May 11-13 as part of the Busan International Performing Arts Festival. The award-winning production is a non-verbal performance so it is suitable for non-English speaking audiences. Based on a graphic novel by Shaun Tan, it tells a universal migrant tale set in a fantastical time and place.

New Zealand’s leading contemporary dance company Black Swan will also take part in the Busan International Dance Festival from June 1-5.

The embassy is also planning a series of political, cultural, academic and sporting events throughout the year.

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise will host a New Zealand pavilion with 10 New Zealand companies at the Seoul Food & Hotel fair at KINTEX, Ilsan, from May 8-11. And the Kiwi Chamber of Commerce here will host a New Zealand Wine Festival at the Grand Hyatt Seoul on May 13.
