Hyundai Motors and its affiliate Kia Motors are stepping up their efforts to support subcontractors’ recruiting.

The two companies said Monday that they will hold a series of job fairs to hire jobseekers for subcontractors, including auto parts manufacturers, between April 25 and May 10.

The automotive job fairs will start at the COEX in Samseong-dong in southern Seoul on April 25. The event in Seoul will run though April 26.

The same events are scheduled for provincial cities such as Gwangju and Daegu next month. A fair will be held in Gwangju on May 3 and another one in Daegu from May 9-10.

“About 300 auto suppliers will participate in the events,” Hyundai said in a statement. “The subcontractors are poised to hire about 10,000 employees this year.”

Hyundai and Kia have been more active in their close coordination with auto suppliers under a win-win strategy.

The affiliated carmakers recently presented auto parts producers the opportunity to compare technologies among vehicles made by global carmakers.

The event, dubbed “R&D Motor Show,” exhibited 25 vehicles from Hyundai-Kia and 85 of their competitors’ vehicles from home and abroad.

“Our employees and manpower in charge of the R&D sector from our subcontractors will enjoy a variety of technologies by experiencing the cars at one place,” a Hyundai Motor spokesman said.

Exemplifying the group’s willingness to share prosperity by hosting events for subcontractors, participants were allowed to disassemble import vehicles on their own during the event.

The companies said the show has paved the way for local engineers to benchmark the advanced technologies of import vehicles.
