Members of the American Chamber of Commerce will start a series of committee meetings Tuesday.

The pharmaceutical committee will meet at 11:30 a.m. at the Grand Hyatt hotel to listen to John Lechleiter, chairman president and CEO of Eli Lilly Company, as he gives a speech about medical innovation and how it can lead to not only good health, but economic growth in Korea and the region.

The committee said that good health is a fundamental precondition for economic development.

The legal affairs committee will hold a meeting on Wednesday at the hotel to discuss the potential impact of opening the nation’s legal market on law firms and lawyers in wake of the recent FTA agreements.

To further this topic, legal search consultant at Major, Lindsey and Africa, Laurie Lebrun will speak about the practical issues and latest firm movements related to opening the local market.

On Thursday, AmCham’s education committee will meet at the hotel to listen to Michael Brown, dean of the Elliott School of International Affairs and professor at George Washington University.

During the luncheon, Brown will examine the implications of Asia’s rise for regional and global governance from a foreign policy and a security perspective and offer his insight of the key opportunities and challenges for the future.
