A U.S. army aircraft made an emergency landing on Friday at the U.S. military base of Camp Humphreys south of Seoul, but no injuries were reported, officials said.

A U.S. Army RC-7 reconnaissance plane executed an emergency landing while on duty at Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, some 70 kilometers south of the capital, according to the 8th U.S. Army.

"No personnel were injured during the landing. This incident is currently under investigation," it said in a statement.

About 28,500 U.S. soldiers are stationed in South Korea as a legacy of the 1950-53 Korean War. The war ended with an armistice rather than a peace treaty, leaving the two Koreas still technically at war. (Yonhap News)
