At least 30 people were injured Saturday in a multi-vehicle pile-up on a highway in the central part of the nation, police said.

Around 90 vehicles were involved in the crash that took place at 10:10 a.m. on the highway that runs between Cheonan and Nonsan, according to the police.

The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment but none are in critical condition, police said. The pile-up and ongoing clearing efforts are blocking many of lanes, snarling traffic flows.

Observers suspect the accident might have been caused by foggy weather and slippery road conditions due to overnight snow. Police are still investigating the exact cause of the accident. (Yonhap News)
