PEBBLE BEACH, California (AP) ― Harrison Frazar won the rain-soaked Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational by a stroke Sunday when Cameron Tringale missed a 2-foot par putt on the final hole.

Frazar, who won the St. Jude Classic in June for his first PGA Tour title, closed with an even-par 72 to finish at 9-under 279. Tringale had a 73 to tie for second with Matt Bettencourt.

After Tringale hit his second shot on the par-5 18th into the front bunker, he missed a 12-footer that would have given him the victory, then missed the short par putt to hand Frazar the title.

Bettencourt shot a 75.

U.S. Senior Open champion Russ Cochran (70) and PGA Tour player Hunter Haas (75) finished at 7 under.

Alfred Dunhill Championship

South Africa’s Garth Mulroy shot a 4-under 68 Sunday to win the Alfred Dunhill Championship for his first European Tour title.

Mulroy began the day with a two-stroke lead.

He was pushed by Scotland’s George Murray, but managed to birdie Nos. 15 and 16 to finish at 19 under for the tournament.

Murray eagled the 15th at Leopard Creek while Mulroy bogeyed the 14th, putting pressure on the home player. But Mulroy responded with the consecutive birdies, including a 60-foot downhill putt on 16, and closed with two pars.

Murray’s second place was his career-best European Tour finish.
