The Foreign Ministry is promoting a working holiday program as part of its efforts to foster 100,000 global youth leaders.

The working holiday program allows Koreans aged 18-30 to stay in one of 11 partner countries of the program to work and travel during a limited period.

The partner countries are Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Sweden and Taiwan.

The scheme will give Korean youths a chance to learn and enjoy other countries’ cultures during their stay.

After hosting five conferences for the program this year, the ministry is holding more at universities to promote its benefits and encourage students to participate in the program.

During the conference, information will be offered about the program such as visas, as well as details on living and working in those countries.

More information about the program can be found in Korean and English at www.whic.kr.
