But Playboy boss Hugh Hefner recently came back to Lindsay with an offer below her asking price -- but close enough for her to agree the deal, it said, adding that shooting for the Playboy spread began at the weekend.

A spokeswoman for the actress declined to comment, telling AFP: "I am neither confirming nor denying the reports." Playboy also had no comment on the report.

The star of "Mean Girls" was turned away from the LA county morgue last week, after turning up late for community service ordered as part of probation terms, officials said.

Lohan appeared handcuffed in court last Wednesday, but was later released after paying $100,000 bail, and a probation violation hearing was set for November 2.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner said at that hearing that Lohan had failed to complete the 480 hours of community service as ordered for her jewelry theft conviction.

Lohan was sentenced to 35 days of house detention in May, as part of a plea bargain over the alleged theft of a $2,500 necklace from a jewelry shop near her home in Venice Beach.

Sautner ruled she had violated her probation for a 2007 drug and drunk driving offense when she allegedly stole the necklace on January 22.

Lohan -- once the promising child star of hit Disney movies "The Parent Trap" and "Freaky Friday" -- has a reputation for hard partying and has faced a series of legal tangles over the years.
