A donation drive to gather goods for people living at women’s shelters in Busan is going on throughout October.

The last drive in May collected more than 50 boxes of toiletries and 230,000 won, which was used to buy food and more useful items.

ATEK Volunteer group reported that Saegil Women’s Shelters have been bringing in more women and children to their facilities, in spite of recent government funding cuts.

The temporary homes are in need of more donations and goods for the women staying at them.

Donation boxes are to be placed at businesses around Busan, with a special collection drive at Cafe Radio this Saturday.

There will also be boxes placed at HQ bar in Jangsan, Loving Hut in Seomyeon, Leehaeook Coffee Shop in Deokcheon, Beached in Gwangan and Gecko’s in Haeundae.
