A man in his 70s murdered his 13-year-old grandson in his bed in Mokpo, South Jeolla Province, on Sunday.
The deceased, only known by his surname Kim, hanged himself in the second floor of his house, while his grandson lay dead downstairs.
Kim’s daughter discovered the bodies when she visited her father’s home after receiving his phone call saying “I will kill my grandson and myself as well.”
The police announced that Kim’s son had been divorced for six years and that he had took sole care of raising his grandson since then.
While Kim’s family said that he had been stressed about fostering the child, the police are investigating for further details.

21일 오전 6시 30분께 전남 목포시 김모(70)씨의 집 2층에서 김씨가 목을 매고 숨져 있는 것을 딸이 발견해 경찰에 신고했다.
