The United Kingdom’s Trade and Investment department has launched a guide for businesses directed toward Korea’s sporting events.

The country has an ambitious program to host major sporting events including the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, the 2015 Gwangju Universiade, and the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

The U.K. Trade and Investment office has developed a special Korea-focused program to ensure that organizers of these major events are aware of British companies’ potential to contribute.

The recently launched directory titled “Springboard to Success,” showcases the U.K.’s expertise in designing and delivering infrastructure, specialist technology, services and skills to assist the events.

The directory contains detail on more than 400 U.K. suppliers to major events and can be downloaded free of charge at www.springboardtosuccess.co.uk.

A large number of U.K. firms have been selected to work on London’s 2012 Olympics. The venues and infrastructure at the Olympic Park are fundamentally ready, a full year ahead of the opening ceremony.

Korea has already hosted major iconic sporting events including the 1988 summer Olympics in Seoul and co-hosted the FIFA football World Cup in 2002 with Japan.
