A British man irritated by noise from a late night party allegedly stabbed a female guest to death and injured a male attendee.
Heather Dyer, 22 years old, was declared dead at the scene on Saturday 2:30 a.m. (local time) after being stabbed in the chest twice. The other victim is currently in hospital in a serious condition.
The murderer, whose name has not been released, was furious about the noisy music from the party. Neighbors said he had reported the loud music to the police 30 minutes before the tragedy occurred.
One of the residents, who asked to remain anonymous, said, “I heard a lot of noise and then shouts of ‘what are you doing’ and ‘he has got a knife,’” according to local reports.
The killer, who also suffered minor injuries, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder after having treatment.
St. Helen’s police are opening an investigation into the case.
