The iPhone’s popularity is creating a buzz around the world with rumors of the smartphone possibly out during mid-August, according to reports.
Tech media website Cnet said the rumor started with a notice posted by Gekko Ltd, a staffing firm located in the United Kingdom.
Gekko said it is looking for full-time iPhone sales staff who were willing to work five days a week from Aug. 16 until Oct. 29 in major retail stores.
The job posting has caused people to speculate that Apple will require more workers for the potential craze that the product will bring.
Other rumors say the phone will be introduced to the market around September based on movements from electronic components suppliers in Taiwan.
Apple is also expected to release the new version of their mobile operating system known as the iOS 5 during the third quarter of 2011. The third beta version of the software has already been open to developers.

미국 IT전문매체인 씨넷은 최근 영국에서 애플의 아이폰 판매전문가에 대한 구 인광고가 등장했으며 채용 시기를 감안할 때 아이폰5가 8월 중순께 출시될 가능성이 있는 것으로 분석해 눈길을 끌고 있다.
씨넷은 14일 채용전문회사 게코(Gekko)의 명의로 영국 내 다양한 지역의 애플 소매점에서 오는 8월 중순부터 2∼3개월간 근무할 ‘아이폰 판매 전문가’에 대한 구 인광고가 게시됐다고 보도했다.
게코는 이 광고에서 “세계 최대 소비자 가전업체인 애플이 8월16일부터 10월29 일까지 주요 (애플) 소매점에서 주 5일(화∼일) 근무할 수 있는 아이폰 판매직원을 찾고 있다”고 밝혔다.
씨넷은 특히 채용에 앞서 8월 둘째 주에 이뤄지는 4일간의 직업훈련 기간에 참 석해야 한다고 돼 있다면서 이 기간 새 상품에 대한 정보를 습득하게 될 것으로 보 인다고 추론했다.
애플은 2007년6월29일 처음으로 아이폰을 선보인 이후 매년 새 아이폰을 출시해 왔으며, 현재 최신 기종 아이폰4가 출시된 지 이미 1년이 넘으면서 업계와 언론계에 서는 대만 내 부품업체 동향 등을 포함해 다양한 추론을 통해 차세대 아이폰이 9월 안팎에 출시될 것으로 보고 있다.
애플은 특히 아이폰과 아이패드 등을 구동하는 새 운영체계(OS)인 ‘iOS 5’도 올 해 가을에 내놓을 것으로 기대되고 있으며 이 소프트웨어의 3차 베타(시험)버전이 이미 개발자들에게 공개된 상태다.
