Australia to participate in Yeosu Expo

The Australian government has confirmed that it will participate in the 2012 Yeosu Expo in May 2011.

President Lee Myung-bak previously asked Australia to participate in the Yeosu Expo during a summit meeting in Korea in April, but Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard was unable to confirm the country’s participation at that time, citing pending budget issues.

“Australia is a leading country in Oceania and the expo will be more successful thanks to their participation,” said director general for External Cooperation of the Organizing Committee of Expo 2012 Yeosu.

Nearly 100 countries have confirmed their participation in the expo.
