Police confirm Daesung’s car killed motorcyclist

Police concluded Friday that the death of a motorcyclist was caused by a car driven by Big Bang member Daesung. They said Daesung would be booked without detention.

The police made a briefing Friday morning based on the autopsy result of the motorist, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle driven by the 22-year-old singer, hit both a motorcyclist who was lying in the road and a taxi driver who had left his vehicle to check on the motorcyclist on the Yanghwa Bridge in Seoul at around 1:30 a.m. on May 31.

It was unclear at the time whether Daesung’s car contributed to the death or if the motorcyclist had been killed by the prior accident. The autopsy result showed Friday that the man was killed when Daesung, who was driving at about 80 kph, ran into him.

"빅뱅 대성 차에 치여 사망" 경찰최종결론

아이돌가수 빅뱅 대성의 교통사고를 수사하고 있는 경찰은 24일 사망자 현씨가 대성 차에 의해 최종적으로 사망했다는 결론을 내렸다.

이런 결론에 따라 경찰은 대성을 불구속 기소의견으로 검찰에 송치할 계획이다.

경찰은 이날 지금까지의 수사결과를 이같이 결론 내리고 이를 오전 10시에 발표했다.

서울 영등포경찰서는 이에 앞서 이날 “국립과학수사연구원(이하 국과수)으로부터 사망자인 오토바이 운전자 현모씨에 대한 부검 결과를 통보받았다”며

"오전 10시에 국과수 자료와 경찰 조사 등을 종합해 브리핑을 할 계획”이라고 전했다.

교통사고처리특례법 3조 1항에 따르면 교통사고 사망사고나 속도위반사고는 5년 이하의 금고 또는 2000만원 이하의 벌금형이라고 명시돼 있다.

전방주시 태만 등으로 인한 과실치사의 경우에도 2년 이하의 금고 또는 700만원 이하의 벌금형을 받게 돼있다.

대성은 지난 5월31일 새벽 자신의 아우디 승용차를 몰고 가던 도중 서울 양화대교 남단에서 도로에 이미 피를 흘리고 쓰러져 있던 오토바이 운전자 현씨와 앞에 정차 중이던 택시를 연이어 들이받는 사고를 일으켰다.

이날 경찰 발표에 따라 아시아 각국에서 신한류의 중심으로 자리하고 있는 대성과 소속그룹 빅뱅은 당분간 연예활동은 불가피할 것으로 전망, 연예생활 최대 위기를 맞게 됐다.
