SK Communications said Tuesday it has launched a website that provides scholarship information involving 63 scholarship foundations and 110 different academic funding programs.

The country’s online portal, which runs Cyworld, said it would also hold a briefing session in Seoul and Busan this week at two universities to explain how students could easily access information on various scholarships available to them.

The event is part of the company’s dream campaign, launched in April, designed to achieve sharing through the social networking service.

The first dream which received the most votes online was to halve the high-rising university tuition fees. As a result, SK Communications began focusing on offering information on how to reduce tuition costs through methods such as getting scholarship funding.

TV personality No Hong-chul was to host the scholarship presentation at Yonsei University at 2 p.m. on Wednesday and comedian Kim Kuk-jin will visit the Kyung Sung University in Busan at 5 p.m. on Thursday to speak about his dreams and experience.

“We went ahead with establishing a database on scholarships following people’s comments that it was difficult for them to find information on scholarships for the information was so scattered,” said an official at SK Communications.

The scholarship related information can be found at dream.cyworld.com/scholarship.
