Police rushed to Samsung Electronics’ headquarters in southern Seoul Tuesday in response to an e-mailed bomb threat following the killing of Osama bin Laden.
The Canadian unit of the electronics firm received an e-mail at 4 a.m. from an unidentified person who threatened to bomb Samsung’s main office and some Middle Eastern countries’ embassies in Seoul.
The countries were Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, Syria and Egypt.
About 50 members of the special police force were sent to the Samsung building at 7:35.
Seoul enhanced security at public facilities and diplomatic missions as Korea, a key ally of the U.S., could become the target of retaliatory attacks by Al-Qaida.

삼성 사옥과 주한 아랍국가 대사관을 폭파하겠다는 내용의 협박 이메일이 접수돼 경찰이 수색을 벌이고 있다.
