Two students in Busan were arrested Sunday on charges of causing a forest fire, police said on Monday.
According to the Busan Haeundae Police, a 15-year-old high school freshman, surnamed Yoon, attempted to burn his old test sheets with a friend.
Police said Yoon did this as a “ceremony” to make a new resolution for his high school life, as his grades during his middle school years were not so good.
The students burnt the sheets at a hill near Haeundae Tourism High School with a lighter. Due to weather conditions, the fire quickly spread to the surrounding trees, burning 660 square meters of forest, police said.
Police were able to locate the two students after finding Yoon’s name on the burnt test sheets.

경찰은 화재현장의 타다 남은 노트에서 윤군 등의 이름을 확인한 뒤 탐문수사를 통해 검거했다고 밝혔다.
