South Korean people enjoy Chinese movies and food, while Chinese people like Korean television dramas, a survey showed on Monday.

According to the poll of 313 South Koreans and 616 Chinese by the Korean Culture and Information Service, 23.6 percent of South Koreans selected Chinese movies as the nation’s most satisfying piece of culture, and 20.8 percent chose Chinese food.

Meanwhile, 36.4 percent of Chinese respondents answered that they like South Korea’s soap operas.

The study also showed that 27.2 percent of South Koreans cited Chinese products as the neighboring country’s representative image and 19.5 percent selected the Forbidden City, the imperial palace of the Ming and the Qing Dynasties.

The Chinese said they think of kimchi (27.9 percent), a Korean spicy fermented side dish, and entertainers (24 percent) when they hear the word “Korea,” the study said.

It said that Koreans hope to see Chinese traditional folk plays and ancient artifacts on display in their country, while the Chinese want to be exposed to more Korean pop songs and folk music.
