A married female teacher at a middle school in Gangseo-gu had a sexual relationship with one of her students, news reports said.
Police officers reported that the teacher, who is 35 years old, had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student. Both cannot be named for legal reasons. According to police officers, on Oct. 18, the female teacher had intercourse with the student inside her car in a car park at Yeongdeungpo station, approximately at noon.
The teacher had been hired as a short-term teacher, before being appointed as a homeroom teacher. The teacher is married with a child around the same age as the student.
The student’s parents contacted the police after discovering messages on their son’s mobile phone.
Police officers in Gangseo-gu said the teacher will not face any legal punishment, as the student agreed to the sex. No money was involved.
A source close to the police said, “Current law indicates even if there is no money involved, if a child is younger than 13, the suspect will face legal punishment. However, in this case, the student is 15 years old. Also, the teacher and student agreed they have emotional feelings for one another. Therefore, the suspect will not face any punishment.”
The middle school said they will dismiss the teacher as her behavior and relationship with the student is considered immoral.

서울 강서경찰서는 화곡동 소재 모 중학교 여교사인 A(35)씨가 자신이 담임을 맡은 반 학생인 B(15)군과 성관계를 한 사실이 B군의 부모에게 발각돼 경찰 조사를 받았다고 18일 밝혔다. A씨는 초등학생 자녀를 둔 학부모인 것으로 전해져 충격을 주고 있다.
경찰에 따르면 A씨와 B군은 지난 10일 낮 12시께 서울 영등포역 지하주차장에서 A씨의 승용차 안에서 한 차례 성관계를 맺은 것으로 전해졌다.
경찰 조사에서 A 씨는 “서로 좋아서 한 것일 뿐 대가는 없었다”고 진술했으며, D 군도 강제적인 관계가 아니라고 말한 것으로 전해졌다. 경찰 관계자는 “D 군이 만 13세 이상이고, 서로 합의로 이뤄진 성관계이므로 현행법상 처벌할 수 없어 수사를 종결했다”면서 “유부녀인 A 씨의 남편이 신고하면 간통죄로 처벌이 가능하다”고 전했다.
여교사 A(35) 씨가 근무 중인 서울 화곡동 소재 B중학교의 C교장은 이날 헤럴드경제와의 통화에서 “A 씨를 오늘 중 계약해제할 생각”이라며 “A 씨는 학교와 계약관계에 있는 기간제 교사이므로, 시교육청이나 지역교육지원청 차원에서 경ㆍ중징계를 내릴 필요 없이 학교가 계약관계를 종료하면 된다”고 밝혔다.
학교에 따르면, A 씨는 올 1학기부터 휴직한 교사를 대신해 수업과 담임을 맡아왔다. 기간제교사는 학교가 직접 채용했기 때문에 불미스러운 행위가 발각될 시 언제든 계약해제가 가능하다고 학교 측은 전했다.
해당 학생에 대해 C 교장은 “학부모와 상의해본 후 교육적 차원에서 조치하겠다”고만 말했다.
두 사람의 관계는 D 군의 어머니에 의해 발각됐다. 경찰은 “A 씨가 D 군에게 성관계를 암시하는 듯한 내용에 대해 ‘좋았다’고 문자를 보낸 것을 확인한 D 군의 어머니가 경찰에 신고를 했다”고 밝혔다. (헤럴드생생뉴스)
