The nation’s first international school run by a U.S. private school was opened in Daegu on Friday.
Daegu International School established by Lee Academy in Maine, U.S. is located within a free economic zone as part of efforts to attract foreign investment.
The school will start classes Aug. 23 with 195 students ― 38 foreign and 157 Korean. It will offer the same academic programs and graduation certificates as the U.S.-based academy.
