Korean striker Park Chu-young has been ruled out of the national team`s trip to Europe, due to a hamstring injury.

The Korean Football Association announced on Wednesday that Park was removed from the national team`s roster, which is preparing for two friendly matches against Denmark and Serbia.

On Saturday, Park, who plays for the French side AS Monaco, started a game against Grenoble, but was replaced at halftime because of a hamstring injury. The game ended in a goalless draw.

After the game, AS Monaco asked the KFA to give Park time to recover from his injury, the club reported on its website.

Manager Huh Jung-moo and his national team squad, excluding Park and also sweeper Kim Dong-Jin, arrived in Denmark on Wednesday. They play 27-ranked Denmark on Saturday, and will move to London to face Serbia on Oct. 18.

Denmark and Serbia both qualified for the 2010 World Cup after finishing first in their European qualifying groups.

Park, who joined AS Monaco in the end of 2008, has been in his best form this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists. Recently, he has signed on for a further two seasons with Monaco.

The 24-year-old striker has scored 13 goals for the national team in his 38 appearances.
