David Beckham will join AC Milan in January on loan from the L.A. Galaxy, the Italian club confirmed on Monday.
AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani told Italy`s Sky TV, "It`s 100 percent certain. The only thing missing is the signature, the agreement is done."
The 34-year-old English international said earlier that he was keen to move to Milan in order to maximize his chance for playing in the 2010 World Cup.
He said, "I don`t see why it isn`t going to happen. I always wanted to go back."
Beckham signed a five-year deal with L.A. Galaxy in 2007. This season he was loaned to Milan from January to mid July.
During his spell at the Italian first league club, Beckham gained his form thanks to the club`s individual training regimes, according to Sky News.
After returning to his L.A. home, Beckham has helped the Galaxy finish top of the league with two goals and three assists in 11 appearances.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid player plans a farewell to the international stage in his fourth World Cup next summer.
Reports speculate that in order to claim a place on the England squad, Beckham needs to be playing first team football at the highest level. (kyuwook.oh@gmail.com)
