Korean Coast Guard seize Chinese fishing boats near Jeju

The Jeju Coast Guard said Sunday it has seized two Chinese fishing boats caught poaching in South Korea`s exclusive economic zone (EEZ), according to Yonhap News.

The Chinese vessels were caught fishing at 9:20 a.m. and were all inside South Korea`s EEZ.

Authorities said they were seized 31 kilometers southwest of Marado, the South Korea`s southernmost island, and were found to be using forged fishing permits.

The captains of the boats are being questioned, with legal action to be taken as a result of the infraction.
