For Goldman Sachs to label a country a "fast-growing developing economy" is truly an honor, but it comes with a lot of responsibility and, in a way, forces that country to live up to the honor.
Brazil as well as Russia, India and China are developing so rapidly that by 2050 the combined economies of BRIC nations could eclipse the combined economies of the current richest countries in the world, said Goldman Sachs in 2001.
But for this to happen, many areas of those countries need to be upgraded.
In Brazil`s case, several areas need to be worked on and firms from Korea can help in this regard.
The Embassy of Brazil is holding a seminar titled "The Growth Acceleration Program and Investment Opportunities in Brazil," which will take place tomorrow from 9 a.m. at The Shilla Hotel.
The Growth Acceleration Program is coordinated by the Civil Household of the Brazilian Presidency.
Its aim is to promote national economic growth and social development, through major infrastructure projects in sectors such as ports, railways, oil and gas, electric energy and renewable energies.
What Brazil has, compared to the other three countries, is a more developed and global integrated financial system and an economy potentially more diverse due to its raw material and manufacturing potential
The seminar has been organized in many different countries. This month it will take place in Seoul and Tokyo.
The Minister for Ports of Brazil, Pedro Brito, will open the activities and make a presentation on the Brazilian ports sector.
Speakers from the main Brazilian government agencies and private companies, related to various infrastructure industries will discuss opportunities of trade and investments in Brazil.
In the afternoon, one-to-one contact meetings will be scheduled according to previous requests.
Simultaneous translation of Portuguese and Korean will be provided.
