Seoul hosts medical tourism congress

The Korea Tourism Organization yesterday hosted the Seoul International Tourism Congress 2009 gathering some 300 medical tourism professionals from here and abroad for exchanges of information and business.

The event was held at Seoul Millennium Hilton Hotel in central Seoul and provided opportunities to hold one-on-one business meetings, along with a forum on the state of the medical travel market and showcases of marketing examples of China, Japan, Russia and the United States.

Until Saturday, some 100 participants from overseas will visit 30 medical tour-related organizations and hospitals here.

Aside from signing memorandum of understandings with medical services in such countries as the United States and Kazakhstan, Korea also invited government officials from Kuwait to promote Korea`s medical capabilities.
