From news reports
Police are expanding inquiries into two large scale draft-dodging cases possibly involving a famous singer and sports stars.
As of Saturday, police in Ilsan, Gyeonggii Province, summoned about 60 people who are suspected of having evaded military service by receiving operations on their shoulders which were normal or intentionally damaged.
A total of 203 people are under probe on the same charges. They include a pro-football player, a pro-gamer and a member of the national volleyball team, police said.
Three doctors and two conscription officials will be summoned soon, Ilsan police said.
Police said they will seek arrest for all those suspected of breaking the law and will expand the probe across the country.
In a separate case, police investigated a broker who helped people evade conscription by manipulating their medical records.
Police in Seoul on Saturday arrested the man and a client who submitted a false medical document to be allotted to social service instead of the military.
The broker is suspected to having helped a total of 113 people avoid military service.
Police will probe four hospitals which issued their medical records.
A renowned singer`s name was found in his notebook containing his clients` information.
