JYP Entertainment confirmed yesterday So-hee and Sunmi (Mimi), the two youngest members of the K-pop group Wonder Girls have dropped out of high school to focus on their overseas debut in North America, according to local media reports.

Rumors have been swirling since last week when a teacher at a high school attended by So-hee informed her classmates of her decision to place her studies on hold for the time being. Since then, the news has spread like wildfire on both the singer`s personal website and all over the blogosphere.

According to the girls` management company JYP Entertainment, the reason there had not been an official statement to the press regarding the matter was due to the potential backlash from both fans and the media towards the two teen entertainers.

The Wonder Girls are currently readying their North American debut with the English language version of "Nobody" as their first single set to be released on June 27 and "Tell Me" as their sophomore single release.

The group recently signed with the largest talent agency in the United States, Creative Artists Agency and will open for the Jonas Brothers` North American tour from June to the middle of August. They will release their debut album later this fall.
