The wives of foreign ambassadors in Seoul had fun while strutting their stuff down the catwalk to their nation`s music at the first annual "Parade of Nations" fashion show at Samsung Raemian Culture Center in Insa-dong last night.

While the wives were parading, dancing and having a grand ol` time for a good cause their husbands - who are usually in the spotlight - were all smiles, laughing and taking a backseat to their wives.

Over 50 nations participated in the event, which is considered to be the largest charity event the international community has organized.

It was around the world in two hours for the enthusiastic guests who were able to experience a little of every represented country by tasting the food prepared by the ambassadors` wives.

"We all came together to help out for many good causes and it was a huge success," said Alfredo F. Ungo, ambassador of El Salvador and dean of the diplomatic corps.

"It was a great success, we are so happy with the results," said Yolanda F. de Ungo, wife of the ambassador of El Salvador.

It was not only tasty for the palate but a visual feast for the eyes with most of the countries in attendance parading their national dress.

The fashion show started off with Austria and ended with host country South Korea. Everyone was able to see some beautiful vibrant-colored traditional clothing.

The South American and Spanish contingent were probably the most colorful and received the most applause, bringing cheers from all Spanish-speaking countries.

Over 100 prizes were raffled to a packed house.
