Po&sie, a French literary journal, has published a special edition featuring works by South Korean poets and a literary review of Korean poems, the Daesan Foundation, which sponsored the publication, said Thursday.

Daesan will also jointly organize four poetry reading events in France and Switzerland with Po&sie to commemorate the publication of the special edition.

The special edition titled “Po&sie-Coree” is composed of two sections: Korean poems and reviews. The poetry of 27 South Korean poets is introduced in the first section under the five themes of “freedom,” “struggle,” “life,” “change” and “encounter.”

It marks the first time in 13 years the leading French journal has published a special edition on Korean poems.

The poetry reading events will be held at Chateau de Chambord, a royal palace in Loir-et-Cher, France on Saturday; the Latin American Cultural Center in Paris on June 4; Korean Cultural Center in Paris on June 5; and in Geneva, Switzerland on June 9. Four South Korean poets -- Hwang Ji-woo, Kim Hye-soon, Kwak Hyo-hwan and Kang Jeong -- will attend the events along with critic Chung Gwa-ri and translator Choo Hyun-jin.
