Korea`s Iriver launches e-reader through British book retailer

Iriver Ltd., the Korean manufacturer of music players and electronic dictionaries, said Tuesday that its electronic book reader has hit the shelves at outlets of a major British bookstore chain, according to Yonhap News.

Iriver, formerly known as Reigncom Ltd., said its e-book reader "Story" is available at 314 bookshops across Europe of the book retailer Waterstone`s. Last month, the Korean company launched the product in German book retailer Hugendubel.

Around 30 percent of Waterstone`s paper books are currently available in electronic versions to be readable through electronic book readers, but the exact number of the electronically available books was not provided, said Jung Jae-kyung, an Iriver company spokesman.
