Hyundai adds LPI

Hyundai Motor Co. added liquefied petroleum gas-powered trim to the Santa Fe SUV lineup on Wednesday.

The car is equipped with a 2.7-liter LPG engine that puts out 162 brake horsepower and six-speed automatic transmission.

The car`s fuel economy comes in at 7.9 kilometers per liter, which according to the company is the highest fuel economy among LPG-powered SUVs fitted with automatic transmission.

The LPG Santa Fe starts at 26.02 million won ($22,000) and goes up to 33.06 million won.
